Saddle Archives

This page is dedicated to all saddles that have been built by Kelly Stickney. Here you will find photos of each saddle upon completion, along with it's serial number, and a few details about the saddle.

Each saddle's serial number is unique. The serial number can be read by the first two digits being the initials of the client that custom ordered it. If the first two digits are numbers, this is a stock build that was built to sell, or built without any particular destination in mind. These numbers will ascend as they are built. The next three digits is the order of build, ex. 004 would be the 4th saddle ever built. The last four digits are the month and year of when the saddle was ordered or designed.

Lisa's Custom Barrel Saddle

This barrel racer is my first saddle built on my own. It's an excellent example of trust and giving someone an opportunity to show someone what they got even though they just got back from saddle school less than two months prior! This is a single skirt rig, with 1/4 black-eyed susan foral tooling.

Karin's Custom Slick Fork

Karin's slick fork was the one that really showed me that I enjoy building slick forks and Wades the most. The hearty, oily look to the roughout just pulls my heartstrings. This is a traditional double rig saddle with a braided border tooling.

Log Cabin Tack's Sale Saddle

Sarah at Log Cabin Tack ordered this saddle to be placed on her sales floor. Hopefully this saddle goes home with someone and sees miles and miles of riding! This is a ranch cutter tree with braided border tooling.

Stevie's Reiner

Stevie ordered this saddle with confident, fun ideas and a plan to ride a pretty little dun colt named Quill. He was a bit small when we first measured him up, but I have full confidence he's going to fill the underside of this saddle perfectly. This is a reiner with traditional rigging, purple stitching, and is floral trim tooled!

Essex Equine's Reiner

What an honor to build a saddle for Essex Tech's equine program! It makes my heart happy to know that there will be students riding this saddle for years to come. This is a reiner tree with traditional rigging and no tooling.

Stock Wade

This is a stock wade with a beautiful combination of rough out and slick out. This saddle has a bead border all the way around, with floral tooling on the slick panels of the saddle.
